Smart Moves December 26, 2009 Gail J. Kuhl 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent resource of understanding for any teacher. Explains how learning and motor skills go hand in hand, and how even the most severly handicapped child can be helped. A must have for anyone who wants to find a way to help a child who is in trouble academically.
Old book, old idea, new target November 24, 2009 Melanie S. Barousse (Louisiana) An older print book was recommended to me at a conference and of course, I found it on Amazon.com. Great condition, excellent price and hopefully the idea works for the target audience-classroom of fifth graders!
Eye opening September 4, 2009 R. Roberts (Bath, Me USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a classroom teacher in a public middle school, I was thrilled by this book. The combination of science and practical application is easy to read and understand. Included are some simple exercises to start with, and to get you hooked. I've just purchased one of the author's recommended books to use in my own classroom. I wish I had read this back in 2005. If you are curious about Brain Gym or the mind-body connection, read this book.
Practical summary of the relationship between moving and learning June 26, 2009 Cindy Goldade (Minnesota) This is an excellent resource for every person to enhance their understanding of how the body supports learning. It is also super for educators who are looking for an accurate, reference-based resource to support their desire to bring more meaningful movement back into the classroom. It discusses specific movements like the Brain Gym® program as well as general movement such as walking.
